Overview
Fontrise by Appsarise is a Shopify app that helps merchants apply typography choices to their storefront through a theme app embed. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and how merchants can exercise their privacy rights.
Data we collect
When you install or use Fontrise, we may collect your Shopify shop domain, merchant account email, merchant display name, OAuth installation status, theme connection status, saved font assignment preferences, advanced typography settings, and custom font files that you upload. We may also store operational metadata such as installation date, plan status, and subscription identifiers returned by Shopify Billing.
How we use data
We use this data to authenticate your store, serve the correct typography stylesheet to your storefront, save your font assignment preferences, provide custom font hosting, display plan and usage information, support billing through Shopify, and troubleshoot store connection issues.
Shopify theme data
Fontrise requests theme access so it can identify your active theme and help you enable the Fontrise app embed. We use Shopify Admin APIs to read theme metadata and app embed settings needed to determine whether Fontrise is active. We do not sell theme data.
Third-party services
Fontrise uses Shopify APIs for authentication, billing, theme status checks, and compliance webhooks. It may use the Google Fonts API to retrieve open-source Google Fonts metadata and font CSS. Custom font files are stored in secure cloud file storage so they can be delivered to your storefront stylesheet.
GDPR and merchant rights
Merchants may request access, export, correction, or deletion of their stored Fontrise data. Where applicable under GDPR, CPRA, and similar laws, you may object to processing or request restriction of processing. Contact [email protected] to make a privacy request.
Data retention
We retain merchant and shop configuration while the app is installed and as needed to provide the service. If a shop is disconnected, uninstalled, or Shopify sends a shop redaction webhook, Fontrise deletes or anonymizes shop-related records unless we are legally required to retain limited billing or compliance records.
Customer data
Fontrise is designed for storefront typography and does not need to store end-customer profiles. If Shopify sends customer data request or redaction compliance webhooks, Fontrise verifies the webhook signature and responds according to Shopify requirements.
Security
We use access controls, HMAC verification for Shopify webhooks, secure OAuth token handling, and cloud storage controls to protect merchant information. No internet service can be guaranteed to be perfectly secure, but we use commercially reasonable safeguards.
